Ontario Farm Market Summary for Wednesday, March 18

At the Ontario Stockyards, 436 fed cattle were on offer.  Cows and bulls

traded actively at stronger prices. Veal sold steady to Monday’s market.

Cows:                          $65.00 – $94.00

Bulls:                           $100.00 – $109.77

From Ontario Pork:

Quebec’s average price on Tuesday was $162.51 per ckg D.W. 100 index.

The previous markets day’s CME Constructed (201) price was $60.24

U.S. per cwt. D.W. Compared to the previous day this was up $0.82

Today we expect the CME Constructed (201) price to increase $0.47

At the Chicago Board of Trade, corn futures are moderately lower:

MAY20 down 8 1/4 at $3.35  3/4

DEC20 down 4 1/2 at $3.58

Soybean futures are mixed:

MAY20 up 5 3/4 at $8.30

NOV20 up 1 at $8.43  3/4

Chatham-Kent cash corn:    $4.86 – $4.91/bu, $191.23 – $193.20/mt.

Chatham-Kent cash soybeans:        $11.20 – $11.45/bu, $411.53 –

$420.72/mt.

Grain Farmers Terminal Wheat Bids: Soft White $7.65/bu, $281.09/mt.

Hard Red $7.86/bu, $288.81/mt, Soft Red $7.65/bu, $281.09/mt, Red

Spring $7.00/bu, $257.21/mt.
