Ontario Farm Market Summary for Thursday, March 19

At OLEX and Brussels, 1,000 fed cattle were on offer.  At OLEX, cows are

selling at prices $2.00 higher than the early week sharp increase. At

Brussels, veal is selling on a strong, active trade with prices $10.00-$20.00

cwt higher.

Cows:                          $79.00 – $94.50

From Ontario Pork:

Quebec’s average price on Wednesday was $171.41 per ckg D.W. 100

index. The previous markets day’s CME Constructed (201) price was $60.92 U.S.

per cwt. D.W.  Compared to the previous day this was up $0.68

*Today we expect the CME Constructed (201) price to increase $0.68

At the Chicago Board of Trade, corn futures are higher:

MAY20 up 14 1/2 at $3.49  3/4

DEC20 up 10 at $3.67  3/4

Soybean futures are slightly higher to higher:

MAY20 up 23 1/4 at $8.48  3/4

NOV20 up 14 1/4 at $8.56  1/4

Chatham-Kent cash corn:    $4.95 – $5.05/bu, $194.77 – $198.71/mt.

Chatham-Kent cash soybeans:        $11.59 – $11.74/bu, $425.77 –

$431.28/mt.

Grain Farmers Terminal Wheat Bids: Soft White $8.01/bu, $294.32/mt.

Hard Red $8.23/bu, $302.40/mt, Soft Red $8.01/bu, $294.32/mt, Red

Spring $7.16/bu, $263.09/mt.
