Beef Farmers of Ontario is urging producers to get political in this federal election campaign. BFO has issued a ‘Call-to-Action’ to build awareness of the current challenges and opportunities facing the beef industry.

Producers are being encouraged to reach out to local MP candidates through attendance at all-candidate social media, emails, written letters and phone calls. The BFO has a contact list of MP candidates available through the office, and its website The organization has distilled its priorities to two major asks:

1.What will you do to ensure your party corrects the inequity in Business Risk Management (BRM) insurance programs that puts the beef sector at a competitive disadvantage to farmers with greater levels of risk management insurance support?

2.How does your party plan to support market development and access to international markets in light of the current trade and market disruptions?
