Cami International Poultry Limited of Welland has had its Canadian Food Inspection Agency licence suspended because of problems related to welfare.

The licence will remain suspended until the company takes corrective action, the CFIA said.

While the suspension is in effect, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which the particular license, SFC licence # 3RWXY8FD, was issued.

There is no food recall associated with this suspension.

Licence holders are responsible for ensuring that they comply with Canada’s food laws. The CFIA said it is committed to enforcing those laws.
